Melissa has been a full-time stay-at-home mom since she and her husband began fostering in 2013.  Throughout the years they fostered, the Jensen’s welcomed and loved many kids, including several newborn babies.  After adopting their daughter from foster care in 2019 they have taken time to focus solely on their new forever family.  This year Melissa has begun stepping back into the foster care arena through her work in supporting RAISE FRC.  As she seeks God for healing from a long-term and especially difficult placement, she has found that standing up for the kids who are left at the mercy of adults within the system has been empowering.  This, running an online children’s clothing boutique and the role of Mother to her 5 year-old daughter are her current pursuits, and represents the passions she holds most dear.

Melissa has been married to her husband Chris for 24 years.  Throughout those years they have volunteered for

many different church outreaches and community efforts in their hometown of Phoenix, AZ. In 2012 God opened doors for a drastic move across the country to Greensboro, NC.  This new place has become home, and they are forever grateful for the family they always dreamed of, and new friends and community with which they have been blessed.

Melissa’s work history includes administrative experience within the non-profit community.  In Arizona Melissa worked for Gabriel’s Angles, an organization providing Pet Therapy to at-risk children. She also worked briefly for the largest food bank in the country, St. Mary’s Food Bank.  This past experience has brought much joy to her life, and she is ready to use that knowledge to help build and support the most worthy endeavors of RAISE FRC.
